Job Summary:
The Sr. Product Designer role will be part of Movista’s Product Design team, responsible for providing innovative design solutions across multiple products.
Working alongside product managers, designers, and engineering teams, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of solutions to our clients. As the Sr. Product Designer, you will have huge impact on defining how our users will utilize our products and ensure that our design solutions are translated through innovative and intuitive design patterns. Our solutions support distributed workforces in retail environments that experience high turnover via mobile applications. This makes usability design essential to ensure our clients have tools that can get their teams productive quickly.
You will be an experienced member in a growing team responsible for articulating a design vision and execution through an iterative, evidence-driven design process. You will also ensure that you’re constantly thinking about the end user and making data driven design decisions and effectively communicating these decisions to the broader team. You will foster cross-functional collaboration by working closely with product managers, engineers, and client teams to shape the vision for our products.
Responsibilities:
Be a leader in design for new experiences and improvements of existing experiences while planning and defining strategy for the direction of future iterations.
Focus designs on intuitive usability for a high-turnover, remote workforce in a way that facilitates remote team productivity with little to no training.
Plan and propose innovative solutions for a wide variety of product design challenges including, but not limited to: mobile, tablet and desktop.
Be able to quickly iterate on design solutions based on user and team feedback with a positive open-minded approach.
Consistently back decisions with insights, data and testing all while being able to articulate why you made those design decisions.
Work collaboratively with engineers and product managers throughout all stages of the product lifecycle.
Be a key member of the team responsible for maintaining design systems for web and mobile experiences
Assist in leading the process for usability testing for remote and in person users and bring UX research practices and innovation to the table across all products.
Provide design solutions to meet cost-effectiveness and on-time deliveries.
Validate product designs, identify constraints and provide corrective actions.
Assist in making process improvements to ensure product quality and productivity.
Interact cross-functionally to clearly understand customers’ product requirements and vision.
Recommend new technologies and tools to optimize product design processes.
Identify larger scope issues and play a leadership role with cross functional partners to develop creative solutions for bringing new products to market.
Experience in UX Research practices such as user testing, ethnographic research and user interviewing.
Comfort in a fast-paced, highly-dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience designing complex digital products across multiple platforms (mobile, web, other formats)
Proven successful application of design thinking, craft, customer focus, and product contributions.
Formal training in Design, UX, HCI or related field through an academic program or professional experience.
Experience with design and testing tools (Sketch, Zeplin, Maze, Adobe XD, Figma, whiteboarding, prototyping or other related tools).
Ability to present and defend design decisions with confidence while also being open to feedback from multiple sources.
Able to work collaboratively with product managers, product owners, engineers, and other stakeholders to craft design solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with digital product design development working in an agile environment.
Understanding, utilizing and creating Design Systems for use across multiple platforms and products.
Create high-fidelity interactive prototypes using design software.
Great visual design skills that enhance user-centered design skills.
Experience designing for B2B and B2C products with an understanding of a diverse platform of clients.
Experience with an understanding and execution of intuitive and innovative interaction design solutions.
Has an understanding of the many different facets of Retail when it comes to Product Design.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
