Software Engineer

Exotanium, Inc. (http://exotanium.io/) is searching for a Software Engineer (Linux Kernel and Hypervisor Development) to work with a team of developers to extend our platform’s capabilities to new cloud services. Our company has offices in Ithaca, NY and Santa Clara, CA, and we also offer remote positions across the United States.

Exotanium, a startup created by two professors and one graduated Ph.D. student from the Department of Computer Science at Cornell University, is a cloud resource optimization and management platform that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to help enterprises reduce spending in the cloud by up to 90% while enhancing both operational security and performance.

We recently closed a seed round and are looking for developers to join our brilliant, world-class team working to extend our next-generation containerization technology to new cloud providers, opening up our platform to a wide array of new customers.

Key responsibilities:

• Optimize the Xen hypervisor to support container applications, and modify the Xen tool stack to support required container architectures.
• Optimize the Linux kernel for virtualization-based container runtimes.
• Develop product installation tools and demos.
• Code, test, review, deploy!

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors or more advanced degree in Computer Science or related programs.
• Demonstrated experience in the kernel and hypervisor-level programming.
• Demonstrated experience in Xen hypervisor development, and kernel development or kernel-level device driver development experience
• Solid understanding of operating systems, containers, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud computing.
• Proficient communication skills and proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
• Growth mindset and a passion for learning
• You can work effectively in a remote environment
